X Marked The Spot. The S&P 500 just closed well outside its weekly expected move, the Nasdaq dropped 4.8%, semiconductors got hit 10.44%, and the exact level we've been warning about for the last three videos finally broke — at 8:40am Pacific the SPX crossed under the gamma flip line at 7475, and volatility exploded in real time. In today's stock market report, we walk through exactly what happened, why this move was completely within the framework we've been building, and what to watch for going into next week as the SPY weekly implied move doubles from roughly ten dollars to twenty dollars. We break down the moment the gamma flip line broke, the immediate VIX spike that followed, dealer hedging flipping from suppressing volatility to amplifying it (selling into selling, buying into buying), and how the lower weekly expected move acted as a magnet exactly when the flip happened. We cover Nvidia down 6%, Tesla down nearly 7%, Broadcom and Micron getting hit big, Amazon cracking well outside its weekly expected move, Meta and Microsoft closing outside theirs, and why the heat map still showed a 50/50 advance decline line meaning this was a mega cap concentrated selloff, not a capitulation. We walk through how today's QQQ down 4.8% session compares historically to the April 2025 bottom, October 2022, and September 2022, why this move was actually within the semiconductor weekly expected move despite the size, and why volume was lighter than prior capitulation days like April 2025 or December 18th 2024. We cover energy leading the sectors at +2.5% (which is historically a cautionary sign when it outperforms the S&P 500), consumer discretionary and technology bottom of the list, and the full risk off rotation through the day. On the macro side we update the dollar firing higher to the 100 marker as flight to safety kicked in, gold getting hit 3.29%, silver down 8.3% dragging miners with it, the Bitcoin sell trigger playing out perfectly with price flushing from 75K to under 60K, Ethereum hitting a new 52 week low, the 10-year yield breaking higher off its defensive posture, and oil up on the week — the exact intermarket combination that historically produces red equity markets. We walk through the volatility regime including back month versus front month vol still elevated, the VVIX (volatility of volatility) actually relatively contained below the 110-112 zone (which means this move could still have legs), and what the SPX gamma flip line crossing means for trade strategy going forward as we're now in negative gamma where bounces can be violent and trends can extend. We lay out next week's SPY weekly implied move at 7178 to 7600, the daily implied move at 7177 to 7257 for Monday's cash session, the lower monthly implied move at 7310, and the critical year-to-date VWAP level from the bottom of this year that would line up below the lower monthly implied move if sell side continues. We also cover the five day moving average curling over and exactly what needs to happen to flip the short term trend back bullish (flatten, recapture, turn up). If you trade options, swing trade, follow gamma exposure, dispersion, market breadth, intermarket analysis, or care about how to navigate negative gamma environments where strategies need to change, this is the kind of stock market analysis you don't want to miss. 🟢 TRADE IDEAS & DISCORD: https://www.patreon.com/figuringoutmoney __________________________________________________________________________________________ 🔔 Subscribe now and never miss an update: https://www.youtube.com/c/figuringoutmoney?sub_confirmation=1 📧 For business inquiries or collaboration opportunities, please contact us at [email protected] 📈 Follow us on social media for more insights and updates: 🟢 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/figuringoutmoney 🟢 Twitter: https://twitter.com/marketmike ______________________________________________________________________________________________ DISCLAIMER: I am not a professional investment advisor, nor do I claim to be.
